Orange Trane was first founded in 1994 in Kartuzy (northern Poland) by young local musicians. After 1997 the band consisted of Piotr Lemańczyk, Sławek Jaskułke, Dariusz Herbasz and Tomasz Łosowski, playing concerts in this lineup.
The band played modern jazz, adding tradition and modernity with expression and melodiousness. The group was giving concerts in jazz clubs all around the country, and also on main Polish jazz festivals, such as: Jazz Juniors, Jazz nad Odrą, Pomorska Jesień Jazzowa (Klucz do Kariery) and was winning many distinctions and awards. In this lineup the band recorded two albums: well perceived debut album Obertas, and coming afterwards My Personal Friend in which participated also Mieczysław Szcześniak – vocal, Maciej Sikała ? saxophone, Leszek Dranicki ? guitar and Cezary Paciorek ? acordeon.
In 2011 Piotr Lemańczyk and Tomasz Łosowski reactivated the band. They also invited to cooperation remarkable vibraphone player ? Dominik Bukowski. In 2012 first album after reactivation was released ? Orange Trane Acoustic Trio. Currently the band is promoting new album FUGU.
